The Tree Of Life is a tree that God had originally put in the Garden of Eden in the book of Genesis, which if a man eats of its fruit would live forever. However, because man had sinned and eaten of the Tree Of The Knowledge Of Good And Evil which God told him not to eat, he and all his offspring were barred from eating of the Tree Of Life. It would remain that way until Jesus Christ came and paid for the sins of all mankind on the cross and rise from the dead the third day.

In the book of Revelation, the tree appears again, this time in the New Jerusalem, as mentioned in Revelation 22:2:

In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

It appears in the final chapter of the Left Behind book "Kingdom Come".
