A Jew is a person born of descent from the twelve tribes of Israel who believes in Jehovah God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Jews believe that their Messiah has yet to come, though either not knowing or outrightly rejecting that God had already sent His Son Jesus Christ to be their Messiah. In the Left Behind books, the Jews in Israel were led to believe that Nicolae Carpathia was that coming Messiah, only to find out with his desecration of the Temple in "Desecration" that he was a deceiver. However, prior to the start of the Tribulation, there were 144,000 Jews that were sealed by God for the purpose of evangelizing to the nations that Jesus is the Messiah. Eventually the Jews came to the knowledge that Jesus is the Messiah and put their faith in Him before His second coming.
