Migratory-locust

A locust is a type of grasshopper. Certain types of locusts devour forms of vegetation, causing massive damage that even affects the production of food.

God used locusts as one of the plagues against Egypt in order to force the Pharaoh at the time of Moses to set the Israelites free. The prophet Joel used locusts as a symbol of an invading army that was coming for God's people to judge them.

Apollyon: The Destroyer is Unleashed[]

Locust-like creatures are unleashed by Apollyon upon the nonbelievers during the fifth Trumpet Judgment that are led by their master, Satan. Revelation 9:7-10 describes them:

The shape of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle. On their heads were crowns of something like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men. They had hair like women's hair, and their teeth were like lions' teeth. And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many horses running into battle. They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. Their power was to hurt men five months.

The effect of their stings, as quoted by Scripture, causes men to seek death and not be able to find it.
