Apollyon is the Greek name of the angel of the bottomless pit who is king over the locust creatures that were unleashed, as mentioned in Revelation 9:11. His Hebrew name is Abaddon. Both of these names mean "destroyer".

He disguises himself as a flaming meteor falling down to Earth, into a volcanic hole in Iraq. There, he releases a huge amount of Demon-locusts from that same hole, and they sting everyone who does not have seal of God on their forehead.
